Thomas Patrick Morgan understands the value of hard work. As a teenager and in his early 20s, he worked full time at a grocery store while juggling a full load of classes at community college so he could fulfill his goal of being the first person in his family to obtain a college degree.
Attending community college and enjoying the benefits of low tuition and high educational standards helped Thomas fulfill that goal, first at Grand Rapids Community College and later at Michigan State University.
Community college helped prepare Thomas for a career of service to the public, first as a watchdog journalist and later as an advocate for Michigan’s working families, including nurses, firefighters and teachers.
Thomas understands that Lansing Community College plays a critical role in preparing Michiganders for the job market, and he will fight every day to ensure every person receives access to an affordable, quality education.
As an LCC Trustee, Thomas will work to strengthen LCC’s role in Mid-Michigan’s economy to attract local businesses and investments. He will fight hard to open the doors to affordable, quality education and training to more citizens and help move Mid-Michigan forward.
